Each day, Karen makes 37 loaves of bread at the bakery where she works. Each loaf of bread requires 6 cups of flour. One pound of flour is equivalent to about 4 cups of flour. About how many pounds of flour does Karen need in order to make the loaves of bread?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if karen has to make 37 loaves with 6 cups of flour each, how many cups of flour does she need altogether?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

First solve for the number of cups needed, like @kah.x said. You can do that by multiplying 37 by 6, since 1 bread needs 6 cups. Once you know the product, convert cups to pounds. You can do that by taking the product and dividing it by four, since you're told that 4 cups is 1 pound. The number will be your answer. :) Hope this helps!

@KamiBug is correct.
