If an atom has 8 protons, how many electrons does it usually have?

It should have 8 electrons, unless it is a isotope.
An atom is electrically neutral. Therefore, the number of protons is equal to the number of electrons. @Takashi Even in an isotope, the number of protons and electrons are equal, only different in the number of neutrons.
My bad, I'm just getting back into chemistry this year lol.
