Medal A set of data has a mean of 15, a median of 13, and a mode of 14. Which of these numbers must be a value in the data set? -13 -14 -15 -none of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, mean is the average, median is the middle data, and mode is the number that appears most. The average does not necessarily appear in the data set because it is simply an "average" of the numbers, and nor does median because if the number of values is an even number, then the median would be the "average" of the two middle numbers. Since mode is the number that appears the most, it's guaranteed to show up in the data set. So, your answer would be 14.
