what are the differences between a parliamentary government and a democracy? how are they significant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in a Parliamentary government , Its legislature has authority over the executive branch, with the ability to select and remove executive leaders. In a Democracy that does not happen. (by the way this should be posted in Government section, and medal and fan please if you're happy with that answer)
