How do you find the square root of a fraction?

OpenStudy (ahsome):

What fraction? Like: \[\sqrt{\frac{1}{4}}\]?

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

81/100

OpenStudy (ahsome):

Ok. Here is your equation: \[\frac{81}{100}\] Now, we wan't to square root the whole thing, right? \[\sqrt{\frac{81}{100}}\] That is the exact same as: \[\frac{\sqrt{81}}{\sqrt{100}}\]

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

So the answer is square of 81 = 9 and the square root of 100 = 10

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

9/10

OpenStudy (ahsome):

Yes \[\frac{\sqrt{81}}{\sqrt{100}}\]\[=\frac{9}{10}\] Thats it :)

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

:D Thanks

OpenStudy (andrewthecookie):

Ok
