Using the numbers 5, 8, and 24, create a problem using no more than four operations (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division, square, square root, cube, cube root) where the solution will be an irrational
number. Explain why the result of your operations is an irrational number.

Do you understand statements 1, 2 and 3 in the table?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
a little
OpenStudy (causticsyndicalist):
Okay, so basically if statement 1 is true, and so are statements 2 and 3 (They are true btw)
you have side-angle-side for the 2 triangles so basically, the triangles are congruent.
OpenStudy (causticsyndicalist):
If the triangles are congruent and line AB corresponds to line DC
the AB = DC
Same goes for the other 2 sides.
So this would mean statement 5 is also true.
Does this help a little btw?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so is it a?

Either that or B. *shrugs* Like I said, I'm not a huge expert at geometry so xP
OpenStudy (causticsyndicalist):
I only know most if not all of the basics and then some.
