can anyone explain why the car starts to rotate on its side when it reaches the sand?

Notice the sand volume just after the spin starts. My guess is the sand introduced to the system clogs things that should be spinning freely and transfers the rotational velocity to the rest of the vehicle. Notice how it REALLY starts the second time the left front wheel hits the sand.
