Can translate this six increased by the quotient of m and n

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

six = 6 increased = + by = x quotient of m and n = m\n put it all together, what do you get?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

sorry, by `x` i meant `multiplication` or \(\cdot\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please combine it together

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Try it out and tell me what you get :) I'll correct you if you're wrong. You have to atleast try, and I am not allowed to give you answers if you don't put in any effort :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6+(m / n) is that correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

/ means divide

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

yes :) I believe so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

You got it right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this ratio of 10 to x

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

ratio = \(\div\)

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

so if it's a `division` of 10 and x, what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its a ratio not division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10:x thats my answer wahts your opinion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Oh, you are most likely right, A ratio is a comparison between two numbers, so it would be 10:x When i think of ratios i think of division since it's a (quantity)/ (quantity)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this when 6 times a number diminished remainder is 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry for that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this when 6 times a number diminished remainder is 18

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

This one has me thinking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when 6 times a number diminished the remainder is 18

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Yeah I'm not too sure about that one, sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have any idea for that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for helping me , I really appreciate it :)
