Need help with vector

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[|| \frac{ u }{ ||u|| }||\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u=<1,-1> v=<-1,2>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

||u|| = sq root 2.

hartnn (hartnn):

\(\Large \dfrac{x}{||x||}\) will always give a unit vector irrespective of what the vector x is

hartnn (hartnn):

and the magnitude of a unit vector, as its name suggests, =1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is the unit vector

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and is always 1?????

hartnn (hartnn):

yup, you can try it by taking different vectors for 'u' you'll always end up in 1 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you
