CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH TWO QUESTIONS PLEASE ? FANNING AND GIVING MEDAL !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the first one, you have to look at which values under f(x) are negative, which are -16 and -8. Then look at the x values these correspond to, -8 and -6. The interval are for the x values, so you can rule out a and b since -2 and 0 correspond to positive values of f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@snowflakepixie i was thinking it was C)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, -4 corresponds to 0, but this function is a parabola so if you plugged in something like -5, that f(x) value would be ngative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@snowflakepixie so which one would be the correct answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D because it includes everything up to 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0 isn't really negative but it's not positive either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@snowflakepixie thank you .. thats one of the questions. Mind helping me with another one ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure, what is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@snowflakepixie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DONT MIND Why does the author of "Enrico Fermi: The 'Italian Navigator'" compare Dr. Fermi to a ship's captain? A. because Fermi carefully worked through unknown and potentially dangerous territory B. because Fermi worked with a crew of people who would not cooperate with him C. because Fermi's experiments occurred in the captain's quarters on a ship D. because Fermi was "lost at sea" in his project

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@gigi_here The answer you have is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@snowflakepixie thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome :)
