Breakfast eaten and the slim camp-outfit lashed to the sled, the men turned their backs on the cheery fire and launched out into the darkness. At once began to rise the cries that were fiercely sad—cries that called through the darkness and cold to one another and answered back. Conversation ceased. Daylight came at nine o'clock. At midday the sky to the south warmed to rose-colour, and marked where the bulge of the earth intervened between the meridian sun and the northern world. But the rose-colour swiftly faded.

"I wisht they'd strike game somewheres, an' go away an' leave us alone."

"They do get on the nerves horrible," Henry sympathized.

They spoke no more until camp was made.

yes, its pretty much saying choose a part from the essay, and emphasize it in a summary of your own words, and state why you emphasize in the way that you summarized it as.

The fierce sad cries should be emphasized because it will contribute to the whole entire story. Without those fierce sad cries aka wolves there would be no White Fang. If White Fang's mother didn't die he would of never wondered on his own and would of never got caught and would never have been forced into dog fights. And it all has to do with the fierce sad cries.
Also the men's presence at that time should be emphasized or White Fang's mother would have not died by that shot. :)
