you have to split the figure into two shapes by drawing a line. After you draw this line you should be left with a rectangle and a triangle

Well, the formula for the area of a rectangle is length x width right? And the formula for the area of a triangle is base x height x 1/2. Just input the values into those equations and then add them together.

It's actually C... area of the rectangle: 13•30=390 area of the triangle: 12•5•1/2=30 390+30=420

13*30+(.5*5*12)=420
