OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
the cube root of the volume of a cube is equal to the length of the sides
OpenStudy (anonymous):
will it be 27?
OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
\[V=s^3\\
\sqrt[3]V=s\]
OpenStudy (igreen):
No..
27 * 27 * 27 = 19683

@UnkleRhaukus That doesn't really help..because he doesn't really know what the Cube Root is..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
A.3ft
B.9ft
C.27
D.243
OpenStudy (igreen):
Google will give you the answer if you put 'cube root of 729' in google..lol.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i think its C
OpenStudy (igreen):
I already told you 27 is wrong because:
27 * 27 * 27 = 19683 NOT 729. 27 is too big a number.

27 is the SQUARE ROOT of 729, not the CUBE ROOT.
OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
The square root of the 729 is\[\sqrt{729}=27\]
but we are looking for the cube root
\[\sqrt[3]{729}=?\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
9
OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
what is 9x9x9 ?

You could've just multiplied all the numbers by itself three times and see which one got 729.

i am gonna pass the test today thank a ton guys
OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
We say that '9 cubed' i.e. 9x9x9 i.e. 9^3 is 729
We say that the 'cube root of 729' is 9
