If y varies inversely as x, and y = 2 as x = 3, find y for the x-value of 1

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well varying inversely means we use the formula \[\large y = \frac{k}{x}\] and we need to solve for the constant 'k' first

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So, we can take the 2 values known....y=2 when x = 3...so if we plug those into that.. \[\large 2 = \frac{k}{3}\] what would 'k' equal?
