Why s it necessary to be able to replicate the results of a scientific experiment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The reason for the need to be able to replicate scientific results is to make sure that your information is accurate and is true. Lets say you do an experiment where you say plant grow faster without food or water, if another scientist wants to prove this and cannot replicate it then your experiment would be deemed false.
