I'm not sure if any of you guys know how to do this, but I'm very stuck.
Do you know the area formula for a cylindar?
2πrh is the formula
No.
But I did just google it, so I know a little bit about it now.
2* pi * r * h + 2 * pi * r^2
\[A = \pi rh +2 \pi r\]
ya, do you know where to plug in the numbers to solve?
No
3.14 * 5 (I think) * 9 ... maybe?
I'm not sure...
You know I"m not entirely sure how to do this...the shape isn't even in the form of a cylinder.... @e.mccormick do you know how to do this?
@midhun.madhu1987 how about you?
http://www.virtualnerd.com/tutorials/?id=PreAlg_11_01_0030 5 is the radius so what is 9? the height?
yes it's the height I think.
This is stressing me out lol.
so the answer i know should be AL≈282.74 don't know how to explain it though its stressing -.-
it's supposed to be in inches^2 but I don't know.
oh I'm supposed to express it in pi as well.
yup its stressing its been years since i did this um my teacher taught me like this, i wasn't patient AL=2*pi*r*h
its unfolded so its easier the cyclinder
I don't know what to do.
look solve this 2(3.14)(5)(9)
that's 282.6
i got 282.6 in sq. sone if its just the lateral you need to find
is there a formula for that?
yea what i had said earlier AL=2*pi*R*H
so 2 * 3.14 * 5 * 9?
@Crissy15
yup
324.99 so then would I divide that by pi?
The answer you had before was your answer 282.6 inches squared, but if you also needed to find the surface area then thats a whole different story. I had posted a video all the way up top, that explains what I did.
but it has to be in terms of pi. So would I then divide 282.6 by pi
