Alright, so basically, all you have to do is plug in each solution to see if it works. I plugged them in, and the only one that satisfied the inequalities was (1, -10), which is D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(Just pretend the sign is less than or equal to) y < x + 5 y < - x - 4 Let's plug in the last one, D. (1, -10) -10 < 1 + 5 -10 < 6 True. -10 < -1 - 4 -10 < -5 True. So, the solution is (1, -10) Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (vjt):

Thanks, now it makes sense. Now i can do the next one on my own.

You're welcome. :)
