OpenStudy (anonymous):

I kind of want Open study to have emojis. Does anyone agree with me on this?

OpenStudy (perl):

what are emojis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) :D ;) :P They are these little faces @perl

OpenStudy (nermaljean99):

Emojis would be amazing!

OpenStudy (greencat):

😺

OpenStudy (greencat):

That is what OS does to 1 emoji of a cat from https://www.getemoji.com

OpenStudy (perl):

emoticons?

OpenStudy (perl):

ok i understand :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah Emoji is short for emoticons @perl :)

OpenStudy (perl):

yes they should definitely have emoticons, students feel at ease if the person helping them is in a 'good mood' , and you can communicate this using positive emoticons.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, with the ji part, I would think they are Japanese emoticons.

OpenStudy (perl):

ahh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly @perl !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We should start a petition!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

There is no need for a petition. There is the suggestion form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was a joke. Why does no one get me jock on the internet and off the internet? Everyone thinks I am serious all the time!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my not me. sorry :P

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, there still is a submit form for ideas. \(\Large\ddot{\normalsize\dot\smile}\)

OpenStudy (perl):

can you remind us how that works

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

http://openstudy.com/updates/5377b7d5e4b0ba022d36af38

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

And \(\LaTeX\) lets you use some of these already. \(\unicode{x1F607} ~~\unicode{x1F608}\)

OpenStudy (perl):

good point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are little boxes. :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 100% on my math test!!! YEEEESSSSSS!!!! I thought I was going to fail it. Hhaha. That's a relief.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I am just really happy right now.

OpenStudy (greencat):

I think it works on firefox but not chrome.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, those are unicode characters, so there may be some font rendering dependence.

OpenStudy (greencat):

😺

OpenStudy (greencat):

Oh, yes! It works on Firefox. If you see The ? diamonds, reload the page. It just doesn't work on Chrome.

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

It isn't really tht necesary And its been brought up b4 c:

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Would be nice though

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I put a ton of them on my \(\LaTeX\) tutorial.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Can you make emoticons using LaTeX.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Like the ones that become a rectangle when you post them regularly.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It supports unicode more directly than the posting in a question does, so it seems to help. You can see a list here: http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/54594bade4b07e4474299fa5 For the single character ones.

OpenStudy (greencat):

Chrome does not support emoji. Switch to Firefox to see the emoji properly. @confluxepic @~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've thought of this before, I'd also like the drawing to have a grid :)

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

we have latex...??

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

@acxbox22 Yes, there is MathJax JavaScript \(\LaTeX\) rendering.

OpenStudy (greencat):

\[\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\huge\unicode{x1F63A}}\] You gotta love\[\huge\color{green}\LaTeX\]

OpenStudy (greencat):

OMG It's so beautiful!

OpenStudy (greencat):

Thank you @e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\(\bbox[5px, pix,border:2px solid black]{\huge\unicode{x1F638}}\) Cat box.

OpenStudy (greencat):

That creepy smile... as if the cat on the box has "plans".

OpenStudy (greencat):

\ / \[~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~\bbox[5px, pix,border:2px solid black]{\huge\unicode{x1F638}}\]

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, the cat might be a little busy using the catbox...

OpenStudy (greencat):

I opened it, which was the introduction of saber toothed tigerss to the new world and the old world. With some random timetravel capabilities, my actions caused the box to open in the past during the ice age. Since then, they have evolved into the cats of today. Credits to @e.mccormick and @greencat for cats in our world.

OpenStudy (greencat):

The \ and / are the flaps of the box when it is opened.

OpenStudy (greencat):

Thank you thank you thank you Eryka! I love the cat emoji!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What was with all the ~? hspace! \(\hspace{1in}\left/\bbox[15px, border: solid black]{\huge\unicode{x1F638}} \right\backslash\)

OpenStudy (greencat):

To move it closer to the center

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\hspace{1.5in}

OpenStudy (greencat):

I only used the squiggle (~)

OpenStudy (greencat):

Because I am still learning \(\LaTeX\). I never knew about hspaces. Plus I haven't made my own original box yet.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

spaces: \(|\!|\) `\(|\!|\)` (negative space) \(|\,|\) `\(|\,|\)` \(|\:|\) `\(|\:|\)` \(|~|\) `\(|~|\)` \(|\;|\) `\(|\;|\)` \(|\hspace{1.5in}|\) `\(|\hspace{1.5in}|\)` \(|\hspace{-1em}|\) `\(|\hspace{-1em}|\)` Note where this negative space pu the second bar... in front of the first!

OpenStudy (greencat):

Don't worry Eric/Eryka. you don't have to teach me on the fly right ow I'm learning at the \(\LaTeX\) subject. \(\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\)

OpenStudy (greencat):

\[\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\huge\color{green}{\unicode{x1F63A}}\]

OpenStudy (greencat):

^^^Exactly 20 cats perfectly fitted.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Your emojicats are multiplying... and very green. They wanted emogicons and you got emojicats. Thoug, since emoji are Japanese, you got emojineko.

OpenStudy (greencat):

It's because I'm "Green" Cat.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

MidoriNeko.

OpenStudy (greencat):

Eryka "Neko" McCormick <== Your name

OpenStudy (greencat):

Bye, Neko.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Nya, I am no kat.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Ahaha :) I think emotions would be a little fun thing to add on OpenStudy :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just want thumbs up |dw:1416280180908:dw|
