What is the slope-intercept form of the function that contains the point (6, 2) and has a slope of 3? y = x +

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sleepyjess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

brb using restroom lol dont leave

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

first we need to find the y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok can u help me find it brb

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

just let me know when you get back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

back

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ok so do you know how to find the y-intercept given a point and the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not azactly uk gotta go to bed at 10:00 tho and i have 4 mre quesions after this but no i dont

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the point slope formula is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

ok since the slope is +3/+1 to find the y intercept we will need to go down so we are going to use the slope -3/-1 so you are going to subtract 3 from the y value and 1 from the x value until x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be 2 to start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u still here

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yep with this graph, what do you think the y-intercept is? http://prntscr.com/57igdp

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i really dont know

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

where does the line cross the y-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at b i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the slope-intercept form of the function that contains the point (6, 2) and has a slope of 3? y = x +

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=3/2 x -16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that it

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

her is a hint of the y intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was i corrrect

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

the y intercept IS -16 but you have the slope wrong in that equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u lz tell me answeres i promise we can go over it tamorrow plz answers 4 my 4 more quesions

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

the slope is given to you they say the slope is 3 slope intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y intercept now substitute in your numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=3x-16

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok 4 more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the slope-intercept form of the function that contains the points (6, 2) and (4, 8)? y = x +

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i just get naswer plz gotta go soon

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

i am not going to just give you the answers if you just wanted answers you should have asked someone else

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

i will help you get to the answers but i will not just do everything for you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

for this one we need to find the slope first do you know the formula for slope?

OpenStudy (funnyguy2):

why do people like to change Preetha's photo @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, so what was the answer for the second question?
