If triangleABC =~ triangleDEC, what is maD?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aum):

Triangles ABC and DEC are similar. That means the corresponding angles are equal. The first letter A of the first triangle corresponds to the first letter D of the second triangle. Therefore angle A = angle D; angle B = angle E; angle C = angle C.

May you show me how to figure this out? And help me with a few more? Please and thank you!

OpenStudy (aum):

angle A = angle D. They have given you angle A. So angle D has the same value.

OpenStudy (aum):

m<A = m<D m<A = 40 degrees Therefore, m<D = 40 degrees.
