Is it valuable to know and practice the conventions of formal English, if so, in which contexts? if not, explain why.

It is very valuable in my opinion. While language does change and slang is created, formal English is romantic. It also projects intelligence. Not only is it refreshing to hear, but especially in professional settings(context). I.E, the workplace/doctors office, etc..
