What is the chemical equation for photosynthesis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6CO2 + 12H20 in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll a yields C6H1206 + 6H20 + 6O2 This is the overall equation of photosynthesis but the mechanism is not as easy as this equation. Photosynthesis involves two distinct phases: light and dark reaction or light dependent and light indeoendent reaction. Studied this today.
