can you have 2 obtuse angles in a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

No you can't. It is impossible.

OpenStudy (demonchild99):

um i dont think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. you can only have one, You can have two acute though.

OpenStudy (demonchild99):

i thought it had to be one obtuse two acute

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

an obtuse angle is an angle bigger than 90, right? Well, a triangle's angles can only add up 180. no more, no less. let's say for the sake of argument that a traingle has two obtuse angles that are 91 and 91 degrees. 91 + 91 = 182 182 > 180 So it is impossible

OpenStudy (demonchild99):

ok that was what i thought

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Possible triangles: one obtuse, two acute three acute
