So, America was afraid that Cuba was going to have a war. so America sent over warships. The warships blew up and America blamed Spain. This starts the Spanish American War. We win the war and the Treaty of Paris is signed. There are three parts to the Platt Agreement 1) US naval base in Cuba Gitbo, 2) cannot sign treaties with other nations 3) We can interfere whenever we think it is needed. Hope this helps!
