2 Questions: 1. At which position will the bar magnets most likely experience the least magnetic potential energy between them? Image: http://gyazo.com/5562218c5398ee47c63ee2447719c395 A. Position 1 B. Position 2 C. Position 3 D. Position 4 _________________________________________________ 2. A positively charged test object is moving toward the positive source charge in an electric field. Image: http://gyazo.com/bd89dc11a308ef7fe4c7e9aa330d1e20 A. Its potential energy decreases B. Its potential energy increases C. Its potential energy stays the same

@surry99 HELP!

OpenStudy (surry99):

hang on

OpenStudy (surry99):

Does magnetic potential increase or decrease as the distance between the magnets increase?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Decrease?

OpenStudy (surry99):

yes...if you have ever played with magnets the farther apart they are the less they repel or attract

OpenStudy (surry99):

What about if I bring two positive charges closer together....what happens?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they repel?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@surry99

OpenStudy (surry99):

sorry website was done....they repel so does PE go up or down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For attractive forces as they become closer the PE decreases because the PE is used to do work. While for repulsive forces you must do work to force them together thereby increasing the PE.
