The 'Glitches' Thread
I don't plan on closing this, and if I do I will recreate it with a link back to the old discussion and edit the original post back to here so anyone interested can follow the discussion/errors. I log on frequently enough to check and update this fairly rigorously, maybe once every other day or so. For right now though there's nothing listed so try to describe your errors as best as possible so I can pile them on the stack! =D
"Unable to scroll all the way down (GC)" - What?
Just press tab+enter to click the post button when you can't see it.
Just posting glitch solutions.
Oh, that bug. That has nothing to do with scrolling, that is incorrect padding I assume.
CSS padding probably, that or something else.
@Opcode This means you can't scroll all the way down on Google Chrome. Perhaps there are other browsers this doesn't work with, I don't know since I don't have them. If there's a better way to describe this glitch, someone tell me and I'll fix it. @confluxepic This isn't so much looking for the workarounds, it's just listing current bugs. Although I suppose it's not bad so that people can get around them in hacky kind of ways.
If you see black diamond question marks just refresh the page. The question marks are usually a problem when people copy and paste.
Oh. @Kainui
copy and paste glitches is a subtopic of glitches
draw box glitches. does not like firefox. i have to restart
Good idea, I'll add those to the list.
Emoticons only work in fire fox.
And you have to make them using unicode.
Draw box glitches: 1. Draw pane displays invisible ink 2. I sometimes play 'pin the draw pane to the screen' with the site.
I have a glitch right now. The questions pane has overtaken the "ask Question" space. Why, OpenStudy? Why? <(>_<)>
Emoticons only work in firefox is a glitch? I didn't think emoticons were really a part of this site, maybe because they never worked for me? Hahaha I don't know.
1. OpenStudy does not correctly map the resolution of my screen when snapping it to a side, causing elements to overlap. 2. Notifications fail to update, AJAX threads stall or become unresponsive. 3. MathJax fails to remember settings.(MathML rendering, etc.)
The draw tool glitches and put the words higher than they are supposed to be.

You can use emoticons -and emoticats- in \(\LaTeX\).
\[\huge\unicode{x1F63A}\]
I can't see it.
@confluxepic Make sure you are using the latest Chrome browser if you are on Chrome, only recently did they add support for Apple emoticons and some emoticons in general.
I am. @Opcode
Chrome does not support emoticons. Try Firefox.
Highly untrue though... See attached images.
oh i dont use chrome, i assumed the comment was true
why do people say chrome does not support emoticons?
The older version did not, on recently was support added.
I see :)
@Opcode They mean my \(\LaTeX\) unicode list of Emoticon characters which is a problem due to Windows not having full Unicode support in the fonts. So \(\unicode{x1f600}\) `\(\unicode{x1f600}\)` does not show for many Chrome users.
@e.mccormick oh interesting. Linux > Windows, just kidding, um, but then how does Mozilla Firefox load the Unicode symbol, but Chrome fails to if both search all the system's fonts?
"Top line above question containing viewing users does not appear." This happens when you use 'tab + enter' when the 'post' button doesn't show..so you have to reload the page to get it back to normal.
FireFox ships with a fallback font set.
Another problem i had once when i drew something, it appeared much lower than where i was actually trying to draw.
when the post button doesnt show all ive had to do is make sure all the little chat things at the bottom are enclosed in the one small tab that looks like a yin yang sign and then that moves them out of the way of the post button. im on chrome
yeah that thing haha
Yes. When I am using the draw tool, and I want to move it, I am never able to get it to stop tagging along with my mouse, so I gotta refresh and start over again
^^
Yass sammi All you have to do is press tab in tht scenario
Yeah, that happens with me too @sammixboo
