The crowds at the local beach have decreased over the last week. Temperatures are very high in the area, but people seem to be staying away from the beach. Why? What could be an independent and a dependent variable for this?

The dependant variable would be the amount of people. The independent variable would be the Temp. This is because the amount of people that are there depends on the temperature..?
