What is the domain of the function below?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

It would be c (all real numbers)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me with another?

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the domain of the function below?

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

It would still be all real numbers... It's better if you graph it because then you could see.

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

It would be different for fractions because the denominator cannot equal 0 because the function would be undefined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you know if it's a real number

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

Well the equations you gave me were just lines and when you draw a line it goes on forever right? So you could plug in any x value possible and it will be on the line.

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! thank you so so so much. I got a 9/10

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

Oh yay that's good! What did you miss?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was one before you started helping me.

OpenStudy (ashleynguyenx3):

Oh okay, glad to help :)
