If you make a table from 1 to 30, you can count how many numbers that are under 5 and how many numbers that are multiples of 7. This is the number of desired outcomes. This will be the value for the numerator. The total possible outcomes is 30, since there are 30 different numbers to choose from. So 30 is the value for the denominator.
