Please Help!? Suppose a parabola has vertex (-4,7) and also passes through the point (-3,8). Write the equation of the parabola in vertex form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=a(x+4)^2+7\] is a start

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since you are told that the vertex is \((-4,7)\) it has to look like that one you do not know \(a\) yet but if you replace \(x\) by \(-3\) and \(y\) by \(8\) you can find it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok I remember how to do it now!

thank you so much:)
