Can we have a general science section? Sciences (general)> Chemistry (subtopic)... The reason why I'm suggesting is because sometimes I have questions that can fall under chemistry and physics or chemistry and bio etc... It's like Mathematics (general) > Algebra (subtopic)... IF there's a general science section, then there's a possibility that this section can be active like the mathematics section and therefore, having a higher chance that people will get more help in science subjects immediately. this is just an opinion :|
I have always felt that a tree structure for the topics would ahve been a lot better. With something like 20 major headings you could cover every possible topic. Then everything else would go under them.
Earth and Space Sciences \(\qquad \bullet\) Astronomy \(\qquad \bullet\) Geology \(\qquad \bullet\) Earth Science \(\qquad \bullet\) Physical Geography Social Sciences \(\qquad \bullet\) Sociology \(\qquad \bullet\) Human Geography \(\qquad \bullet\) Law \(\qquad \bullet\) Communications \(\qquad \bullet\) Anthropology \(\qquad \bullet\) Psychology \(\qquad \bullet\) Government \(\qquad \bullet\) Economics Life Sciences \(\qquad \bullet\) Biology \(\qquad \bullet\) Health Physical Sciences \(\qquad \bullet\) Physics \(\qquad \bullet\) Chemistry Formal Sciences \(\qquad \bullet\) Logic \(\qquad \bullet\) Mathematics Engineering and Technology \(\qquad \bullet\) Computer Science \(\qquad \bullet\) Engineering Philosophy \(\qquad \bullet\) General Philosophy \(\qquad \bullet\) Religion Language Arts \(\qquad \bullet\) English \(\qquad \bullet\) French \(\qquad \bullet\) Spanish \(\qquad \bullet\) Linguistics History \(\qquad \bullet\) World History \(\qquad \bullet\) American History \(\qquad \bullet\) Ancient History \(\qquad \bullet\) European Hostory \(\qquad \bullet\) Asian History Arts \(\qquad \bullet\) Music \(\qquad \bullet\) Art History \(\qquad \bullet\) Art & Design Then more topics go in each sub group, on and on, but covering the top 10 would let you track every question made.
Yes I think there should be less topics and keep/add more topics that will cover more subtopics, like above
Subtopics can also be nested, so the existing math sub topics would just go down a level.
that's exactly what I am thinking, a tree structure . @e.mccormick how many 'major' subjects (not the subsections) do OS have right now? am just curious... so i assume that someone has already suggested this before? if not, how will i let 'THEM' know about this suggestion? (them=the people who have superpowers to change OS lol)
It is one of those overhauls that would probably take a huge deal of work. =( As for majors now... probably a hundred... they had a ton of them when organizations could just make them.
