So, I saw something not too long ago about @Preetha giving out volunteer hours for answering questions. How exactly does this work?
1 question 2 minutes worth of volunteer hours
Well that's neato. How does she document them tho?
what do you mean "how"? :/
I never knew about this volunteering thing.
1 question = 2 minutes That's a good deal.
So do I sign up. Not like I need volunteer hours yet.
I feel like I am talking to myself.
Its always great to have service hours, even if you don't need them
It's publicly available yet. will be supposedly coming in December you can sign up :)
it's not*
I know cam. That is why I am asking.
Okay sleepy. I'll try to remember about it when December hits.
http://blog.openstudy.com/2014/09/12/need-community-service-hours/ you can sign up now I think... on the waiting list scroll to the bottom of entry
Okay. I will make sure to do it.
@poopsiedoodle Um, you are an ambassador.... didn't you read that part of the manual?
@e.mccormick "You may request a Letter of Recommendation or Certificate of Achievement for your volunteer service." it never mentioned volunteer hours
Get An Award! Three months after the initial training period, Ambassadors qualify to be recognized for their contributions to OpenStudy. You may request a Letter of Recommendation or Certificate of Achievement for your volunteer service. However, there are some additional conditions that could hurt or help you. The Ambassador Management Team tracks the training and performance of the Ambassadors. If your performance has caused problems or is not up to standards, you may not get awarded this. On the other hand, if your performance is stellar and beyond expectations, that too could be noted. Exactly how good a letter you can get depends on how good you are as an Ambassador for OpenStudy. These awards can be very helpful when applying for a job, school, or scholarship. This makes it in your best interest to qualify for a great letter! Well, ask for hours on the letter.
no, letters of recommendation are for things like applying to college volunteer hours are for national honor society and stuff it's not the same
"Certificate of Achievement for your volunteer service. "
I used OpenStudy to get hours for an Honors Society.
^^ /bonk /bonk /bonk /bonk /bonk
@e.mccormick , you're making the assumption that @poopsiedoodle has read the manual. I think only like a total of two Ambassadors have read the entire manual. Heh
@Compassionate I believe one of those two ambassadors is you.
You are correct
Well, more will read it this time. I am making it part of the first training session. Last time it was not finished on time. Now it is!
@e.mccormick @Preetha http://prntscr.com/5a0viz From https://docs.google.com/a/openstudy.com/forms/d/1SHxW9W4hJDrtvOt_ZfBfGI2hfUOlyPxY3tCTknClVNI/viewform
@e.mccormick @Preetha What address do we put here?? http://prntscr.com/5a0viz Our address or the school address???
oh, I put my home address o-o
The question is still unanswered... It should have been specific. You can all thank me later when I get this cleared up :P
Well, if the community service letter is going to be for you, it will generally have your address on it.
Or that may be where they mail it to if it is physical... could be either.
ok..
oh thanks :D
Address line 1: your address Address line 2: the address of the institution city, state, country : your address and the address of the institution should be same, i think. When I asked Ms. Preetha for volunteer hours, I gave all my information that is needed or required by my school. Then the Openstudy team will check all your data and they will give you the hours depending on it. My school requires 40 hours of community involvement to graduate from high school. I already have like 25 hours before I thought of Openstudy, so I asked Ms. Preetha if she can give me 15 hours for helping here in OS... but according to all my activities here, I actually gained 33 hours. She'll make a letter and sign it, then you have to send it the institution that requires this document.
?? twice lol
