Greeks worshipped deities that controlled the land and weather. Separate Greek city-states developed instead of a single state. Greek citizens had to rely on slaves to farm and herd livestock.

The terrain in Greece was really hilly and surrounded by the sea. The land was hard to navigate, which made it difficult for the cities of Greece to communicate with each other. This caused the cities to becomes very different and independent from each other, due to isolation. This caused the cities to become almost like states. So..what do you think the answer is?
