x-1/4x=3

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

\[x - \frac{ 1 }{ 4 }x = 3\]

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I would start by multiplying both sides by 4 to get rid of the fraction 4(x - 1/4x) = 3(4) 4x - x = 3 Subtract x 3x = 3 Divide by 3 x = 1

Satellite73's response: Noted.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Because we don't know what to do with what is given. Graph it? Solve it?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

lol satellite is looking at this...

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I'm going to assume it was solving for the variable as there was no given y and no instructions.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Usually people just post plain algebra problems that are for solving the variable
