If a satellite orbited at ththe same velocity around a planet with three times the force of gravity, the orbit radius would be how much different?
When a satellite is in (circular) orbit, the centripetal force MsatV^2/R is provided by the gravitational attraction between satellite and planet. So, if you consider the attraction increasing by a factor of 3, the satellite will have to move so that MsatV^2/R increases by a factor of 3. If we are supposing that V stays the same, can you see how R has to change ?
if it has the same volicity and 3 times the force of gravity well it in space right the only thing keeping it around our earth is our gravity, so three times our gravity (depending on where it is) will keep it close but not in our atmosphere, i think
