After reading and analyzing "The Calypso Borealis," an essay by John Muir, and William Wordsworth's poem, "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," write an essay in which you describe how each author views nature and answer the question. Support your discussion with evidence from the text. I. Hook: William Wordworth and John Muir were two lonely men. Both artists strongly loved nature and were connected to it but were also both depressed. Nature brought them both happiness and through their writings, you can tell it took away their depressive state. A. Bridge: John and William described in their writings how the beauty of nature both cleared and healed their minds. The thoughts and memories of the nature they saw brought a state of peace and tranquility to their minds, therefore healing the pool of depression that had invaded their minds B. Thesis: William Wordsworth and John Miller not only share their relationship with nature through their vocabulary, dictation, and syntax but through the impact of mood, and tone as well, and while both authors express their relationship in different ways they both still have a major impact on the audience that’s reading.
