Oh I think I see what you mean. AB is shorter than DE, so that's why it's AB<DE? Let me know so I can know that i'm on the same page.

yes AB < DE look on the picture u will find that the sides in both triangles are same which are 6 and 8 while the differences is only of angle in first one triangle the angle is 20 while on the other trinagle the angle is 30 degrees so when the angle will be large the another side will also increase thats why we wrote AB < DE

20+A+B=180 and 30+E+D =180
