Adding detail is typically one of the most enjoyable parts of writing because it is the part of writing that truly allows the author to express his/herself! My biggest suggestion is to use imagery all over the place. Imagery and details that appeal to the senses (smell, touch, sound, etc) will make your writing so much more enjoyable to read. Imagery is especially useful when you introduce a new setting, character, or situation. Improving sentence structure and syntax will also help you build up details. Using literary tools like antithesis will naturally implement more details into your writing.

Just imagine you are watching it like you would a movie. except you stop several times to observe everything around you and describe what you see. :)
