The Dawes Act, along with basically every other act towards Native Americans in the 1800s -- was pretty screwed up. Basically -- it took their original tribal land away and then, as a cheap repercussion, split up the tribe into smaller groups of people and gave them smaller land (around 80 acres). Now that you know this, what do you think the correct answer is?
