GNU/Linux = Operating system.
Both are open source.
It has the potential of being used as command-line or GUI, or even both.

Who owns what is tricky, the company name would be Linux, the trademark is owned by Linus Torvalds and administered by the Linux Mark Institute on his behalf. Distribution is technically anyone.
