Use proportions to solve. Change the mixed numbers to an improper fractions. Or if you don't like fractions, you can change the mixed numbers to decimal. Use the proportion template below. Notice that the units are in the same position on both sides of the equation. You can now fill in three of the positions in the template from the information given and solve for the other position. \[\frac{ miles }{ hours}=\frac{ miles }{ hours }\]
