When Clara accesses the programs and documents on her computer by way of icons, she is said to be employing

don't hold me to it - I have no confidence in this answer.. but perhaps she is employing shortcuts.

I'm guessing so because I make icons on my desktop which I use to open the cmd via shortcuts, then in the same line of code I automatically execute some cmd commands to open the program I want.
