How has Andrew Jackson Shown initiative??

Give ONE specific example and EXPLAIN how this individual displayed initiative through his actions.

Jackson was a tremendous general who played a major role in creating American control over the southeast. In addition to his victory in the Battle of New Orleans, Jackson captured Florida from the Spanish. His treatment of the Indians, while brutal, is consistent with his overall goal of consolidating that region as American territory.

As president he paid off the national debt, conducted an effective foreign policy, expanded the powers of the presidency, and fought the most powerful and corrupt financial interest of his day. His economic policy, however, probably contributed to the Panic of 1837.
