if the volume of a box is 180ft^3, and the width is 1ft longer than the height and the length is 5ft longer than the height, what are the measures of the box?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, so let's call the height x. We know the width is 1ft longer than the height, so x+1. We know the length is 5ft longer than the height, so x+5. The volume of a cuboid is width*length*height: x(x+1)(x+5)=180 Expand and solve for x :)
