-2x+7y=14 to y=mx+b

OpenStudy (aripotta):

so our goal is to get y by itself on the left-hand side

OpenStudy (aripotta):

how can we get rid of the -2x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add both sides

OpenStudy (aripotta):

right so now we have 7y = 2x + 14 now what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide by 7 on both sides

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yes and what do we get then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=2x/7+14/7

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yea but that can be simplified a bit y = 2/7x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats an equation of a line that is perpendicular with the equation -2x+7y=14

OpenStudy (aripotta):

you should post that in a new question :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did that, no one helped

OpenStudy (aripotta):

tag me in your new question and i'll help. also, can you give me best response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (aripotta):

do @aripotta in the comments and i'll get a notification

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (aripotta):
