cats can exhibit curly ears or normal ears. When cats homozygous for curly ears mate with cats homozygous for normal ears, all offsprings have curly ears. which is dominant? why?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Hello @mppambhar , Welcome to OpenStudy !

OpenStudy (abhisar):

To understand your question let's see an another example. Let's study what happens when we cross Homozygous Tall pea plant with Homozygous short pea plant. In this case we know that Tallness is dominant over shortness. |dw:1416565340295:dw|

OpenStudy (abhisar):

So we see that only dominant trait gets expresssed when we cross homozygous tall with homozygous short.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Similarly when we breed homozygous curly with homozygous normal ears the one which gets expressed will be the dominant. Getting it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much. i got it

OpenStudy (abhisar):

No prob :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its mean curly ears are dominant right?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

OpenStudy (abhisar):
