When solving a system of linear equations, try to algebraically form one equation that has only one variable. True False

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True. So long the system is consistent and independent, the number of equations given has to be the same as the number of variables in the system. The method of forming one equation that has only one variable by replacing one variable from one equation into another equation is the easiest (and least effective method) of solving equations. Later you will learn other methods such as Gaussian elimination, Cramer's rule, so forth.
