OpenStudy (ellecullen):

Which of the following are linear equations? A. y=ax+by+c, where a,b and c are real constants. B. x=0 C. y=mx+b^2, where m and b are real constants. D. y+x=a, where a is a constant. Please help :) I am awarding a medal

Parth (parthkohli):

All of them.

OpenStudy (ellecullen):

I see, I thought that maybe A, B. and D. were the linear equations based on their graphs. Thank you so much :) I'm studying Precalculus.

Parth (parthkohli):

Yeah, I can see why at first thought, C doesn't seem like a linear equation. But it is one because a constant remains a constant, no matter what power it is raised to.

OpenStudy (ellecullen):

This clears my confusion about the power in equation C. I will always remember that. I'm also doing slope with formulas like standard and slope intercept form.
