how is steam used to generate electricity

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

steam is used in order to expand itself between the vanes of a gas turbine. Connected to that gas turbine there is an alternator, so when steam expands between the vanes of a gas turbine, then the same turbine will begin to rotate, then also the alternator connected to that turbine will begin torotate. When an alternator rotates, it generates electricity between its poles
