Help with Math I will medal!
Meg is 6 years older than Victor. Meg's age is 2 years less than five times Victor's age. The equations below model the relationship between Meg's age (m) and Victor's age (v): m = v + 6 m = 5v − 2 Which is a possible correct method to find Meg's and Victor's ages? Solve m + 6 = 5m − 2 to find the value of m. Write the points where the graphs of the equations intersect the x axis. Solve v + 6 = 5v − 2 to find the value of v. Write the points where the graphs of the equations intersect the y axis.

Please, try to solve the equation: v+6=5v-2
v=1
?? @Michele_Laino
I think v=2
I used mathway and the answer was v=1
please substitute v=1 into the equation, and check if you get an identity, if not try with v=2, tell me your answers ,please
Using 1 I got: 7=3
Using 2 I got: 8=8
then the right answer is?
v=2
Ok!, now calculate please the value of m, using the first equation, namely m=v+6, and write your answer
m=8
?
we got the ages of Meg and Victor.
Is it A B C OR D?
?
I think is the method that we have followed right now, because in the f we can find, from the equation m+6=5m+2, m=2. Nevertheless if I substitute m=2, for example in the first eqaution, namely m=v+6, I get v=-4, which is impossible because m and v are ages so they must be positive
oops...because in the first case we can find...
It is not any of the graphing correct?
sorry again from the equation m+6=5m-2
I think it might be C because if we know Victors age it will be easy to find Megs.
But it is also vise versa
yes
So I can click A or C?
I think C
furthermore we have worked with the assumption that both ages are greater than zero
Ok! Thanks!
